Traders and business owners gathered to launch a proposal that could release more than £1 million investment in Northwich.
The Northwich Business Improvement District (BID) proposal was launched at The Quayside, in Witton Street.
Hosted by Groundwork Cheshire, the event outlined the key themes of the BID and the voting process for business owners, who have until June 5 to say if they want the proposal to go ahead.
Jane Hough from Groundwork Cheshire, which is supporting Northwich to develop the BID, said: “The turnout tonight has been fantastic, with many of the town’s business owners coming together to show their support for the proposal. The BID team has worked tirelessly over the past few months listening to the business community and understanding their vision for the future of Northwich.
“Tonight is a culmination of that work and the response to the proposal is very encouraging.”
If Northwich votes in favour of the BID, not only will £1.2m of investment be realised over the next five years, but the town will also become the first in West Cheshire to have the status of Business Improvement District.
