Entries are being accepted until 30 March 2012
How would you like to go for a swim or see a show at the Fusion Complex, Salt Market, Northwich Apex or perhaps the Weaver Current?
These are just a few of the suggestions put forward in the competition to find an inspiring name for the town’s new £12.5m entertainment and leisure centre.
And if you haven’t yet submitted your suggestion, it’s not too late as entries are being accepted until Friday, 30th March 2012.
The best three suggestions will then be selected by a panel and a public vote will decide the winning name.
The competition is being co-ordinated by the Weaver Valley Partnership Board, which is the Council’s partner in the new centre.
Councillor Stuart Parker, Executive Member for Culture and Recreation, said: “The history and geography of Northwich is a theme of many entries while others focus on the exciting mix of facilities in the new centre.
“We’ve had a great response so far but we’re hoping there will be plenty more entries between now and the competition closing in just over a week’s time.”
Names must be no longer than 20 characters, including spaces, and must sit in one of the following categories: historic, entertainment and culture; sport and leisure.
The person who comes up with the chosen name will win tickets to a show of their choice at the new centre and a 12-month Brio leisure pass, which can be used at the centre or another Council-run leisure facility of their choice.
And everyone who enters will receive a free seven-day Brio leisure pass.
Suggestions can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org, handed into the Memorial Hall reception or dropped into the postbox inside the Northwich Information Centre.
