Waitrose has confirmed that it will open the doors to its new Northwich store on Thursday, 21 November 2013.
Located at the new Hayhurst Quay development, the store will have a sales area of 18,000 sq ft and 209 car parking spaces.
It will offer meat, fish, cheese and patisserie counters, an award-winning wine collection, locally-sourced products and a mini cafe.
The branch will also get involved in a range of community initiatives.
Every month, it will donate £1,000 to local charities nominated by local people as part of its Community Matters scheme and staff will also provide 250 hours of their time each year to local causes through the Waitrose Partner Volunteering programme.
Peter Gibbs, branch manager at Waitrose in Northwich, said: “With the shell of the new store now complete and the fit out already under way, everything is on track ready for us to open on November 21.
“We’ve made a major investment in Northwich that will continue as we open our doors.
“We received an overwhelming response to our recruitment campaign and have a fantastic new team in place that will benefit from training opportunities, a yearly bonus and opportunities to volunteer for a range of good causes across the area.
“As well as investing in our partners, we are also keen to support the community.
“Our Community Matters initiative will result in £12,000 per year for charities chosen by our customers and we’ll also be looking to build relationships with schools.
“With less than six weeks to go, we’re really looking forward to welcoming our first customers to the new store and forming partnerships with organisations and charities across Northwich.”
The company launched its recruitment drive at the start of August and received more than 1,400 applications for 170 new roles in just a few days.
The branch will take on two apprentices on a 12-month placement, giving them the opportunity to work in every section of the shop, resulting in an ‘intermediate apprenticeship in retail’ accredited by City and Guilds.
