Plans approved for the regeneration proposals

Members of the strategic planning committee have voted unanimously in favour of the plans to transform the site into a hive of shopping, living and recreational activity.

Waitrose, extra care housing for the elderly, along with a flexible-use unit that could be used for a restaurant, a marina, 253 car parking spaces and riverside access were all given the go ahead at the planning meeting on Thursday 31st May 2012.

The new facilities will be built on the site of the former Regal cinema and Floatel, Northwich Marina and car parks.

The scheme has been put forward by H20 Urban working in partnership with British Waterways, Waitrose and McCarthy and Stone.
