The Environment Agency is progressing with the construction of flood defences to reduce the risk of flooding to 500 homes and businesses in Northwich.
Construction along Weaver Way began in March and started in Water Street, Heber Way and Kwik Fit in May. Residents and businesses in these locations are likely to see more construction traffic over the next two months.
Temporary footpath closures are also in place, with no access to the riverside footpath from Water Street, Drillfield Road and Heber Walk. The moorings along Weaver Way are also not accessible until the construction is completed in September.
In July, work will commence by Waitrose, the Bull Ring and on the right bank of the River Dane upstream of Dane Street Bridge.
Residents and local businesses are invited to attend drop-in sessions at the Environment Agency’s site compound, located on the right just after Victoria Bridge. The next meetings are planned for 26th June and 10th July between 1pm and 2pm.
