The Council’s Vision within its Corporate Plan is to deliver the highest quality of life for all its residents and to be the best Council in the UK. At the forefront of delivering this Vision is the delivery of the area based regeneration programmes. Barons Quay is the major regeneration project in the Weaver Valley and important to the whole Borough as it will create 1300 full time jobs, invest some £50 million into Northwich town centre and bring an extra £80 million GVA into the local economy.
The project therefore has a crucial deliver role for the Council’s Corporate Plan and its delivery will ultimately be measured through the key principles that underpin the plan which are Customer First; Best Practice and Innovation; and Value for Money.
The works consist of the Design and Construction of a comprehensive, leisure and retail-led, mixed use development totalling up to 40,000 square metres; comprising of retail units (A1); a retail food store (A1); a multi-screen cinema (D2); commercial units (A3/A4/D2; ancillary uses; up to 70 bed Hotel (C1); up to 45 residential units (C3); electrical substations; petrol filling station; car parking; demolition of existing buildings; access, highways and public realm works/improvements.
