The £80m Barons Quay development has welcomed three new apprentices thanks to Balfour Beatty and Fusion 21.
Dominic O’Galon from Timperley is on a construction management apprenticeship with Cara whilst Daniel Lewis from Prenton and Adam Arathoon from Ellesmere Port are trainee plant operators with contractor D. Morgan.
Danielle McGivern, Community Regeneration Support Officer from Fusion 21 said: “Barons Quay is a brilliant showcase for the construction industry, giving students a flavour of what life on a busy and varied construction site is all about. We’re delighted we’ve got another three youngsters involved with the build and can’t thank D. Morgan and Cara enough for their continued support with apprenticeships and local jobs for local people. We are keen to recruit as work continues over the next six months.”
Six to eight-week work placements are also available on-site at Barons Quay during the summer months. Danielle said: “Whether you’re a school leaver, a college student or a university graduate we can provide on-site work experience at Barons Quay. If you think a career in construction might be for you, please do get in touch.”
